Florida asks for one educational evaluation a year. It's far gentler than most parents fear — and with Lyceum Mundi it's arranged, covered, and effortless.
Once a year, a Florida home educator must document that the student has shown educational progress commensurate with his or her ability. Note the standard: it is your child's own progress, not a fixed passing score. There is no grade your child can "fail." You choose the method, complete it, and file the result with your district.

Section 1002.41 lets the parent choose among five evaluation routes. You only need one:
| Method | What it involves |
|---|---|
| 1 · Certified-teacher review (most common) | A Florida-certified teacher reviews the student's portfolio and discusses the year's work with the student. |
| 2 · Nationally-normed test | The student takes a nationally-normed achievement test, administered by a certified teacher. |
| 3 · State assessment | The student takes a state student assessment used by the district, administered by a certified teacher. |
| 4 · Licensed psychologist | A licensed psychologist evaluates the student. |
| 5 · Mutually-agreed tool | Any other valid measurement tool that you and the superintendent agree upon. |
Most families choose Method 1 — a portfolio review by a certified teacher. It's relaxed, conversational, and plays to the strength of a well-kept portfolio. The evaluator files a short statement that the student is progressing commensurate with ability, and your year is on record.
Annually, for each year you maintain the program, with the result filed with your district. Many families align it with their filing anniversary; keep a copy in your records.
The portfolio: a dated log of educational activities, the reading list by title and author, and samples of the student's work. A complete portfolio makes the review simple.

Your AI faculty can teach every subject — but by design, the law requires a person to sign the annual evaluation. So we made that the easy part. Lyceum Mundi keeps your portfolio current all year long, then arranges a vetted, Florida-certified evaluator for you — at no extra cost — and delivers the assembled portfolio to them automatically.
